Sustainable Material Solutions

Thermoplastic elastomers combine the flexibility and elasticity of rubber with the thermoplastic processing characteristics of plastics. Unlike conventional thermosetting rubber, which requires vulcanization and generally cannot be remelted, thermoplastic elastomers can be processed through conventional thermoplastic technologies such as injection molding and extrusion.

Depending on the specific material formulation and production conditions, suitable production scrap and processing waste can be collected, reground, and reintroduced into production. This can improve material utilization, reduce production waste, and support more efficient resource management.

Gomec continues to develop material solutions that balance product performance, manufacturing efficiency, resource utilization, and environmental considerations.

Global Recycled Standard (GRS)

Gomec is committed to supporting the transition toward a more circular materials economy.

Our GRS-certified materials and processes support the controlled use of recycled content, including Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) and Post-Industrial Recycled (PIR) materials, where applicable.

The GRS framework provides requirements relating to recycled material content, traceability, production controls, and chain-of-custody management.

For applicable GRS-certified products, the relevant recycled content and supply-chain information can be verified through the required certification documentation. Transaction Certificates (TCs) can also be provided for qualifying transactions in accordance with GRS requirements.

Through the development of recycled and sustainable material solutions, Gomec aims to help customers reduce their reliance on virgin resources, strengthen responsible sourcing practices, and advance their sustainability objectives.
